CloseEvery manufacturer of Dodge Durango uses a combination of materials ranging from cheap to high quality, but some designs like Durango are made better than others. Designers prioritize ergonomics, material quality, and overall comfort, but some competitors offer second and third-line passenger space—a set of red and white gears with a black background facing the driver. The steering wheel has thick leather trim and a metal-look trim. In our R / T test car, the paddle shifters fitted to the back of the wheel operate with satisfying clicks. We were able to place 30 suitcases inside Durango’s house with all the seats folded down, but only four after the third row with all the seats available. That is more than two than Acadia is held in both ratings.
With respect to power, there are three available 2022 engine options. A standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 delivers 293 horsepower on the SXT (single exhaust) models or 295 horsepower on the GT and Citadel (dual exhaust) models and 260 lb. -ft torque. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 produces 360-degree advanced power and 390 lb.-ft torque is standard for R / T models and is optional for Citadel with a focus on luxury. The 6.4-liter (392 cubic-inch) SRT HEMI V8 produces 475 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft for those looking for more performance torque. It runs at 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and can run up to NHRA-certified 12.9-second quarter-mile.
All powertrain is connected to an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission (850RE for Pentastar and 8HP70 for HEMI models).
